This is a definable, catch-all course for the candidate of the Doctor of Divinity degree. Any coursework that is deemed remedial for the purpose of graduating a well-rounded leader of the Gospel can be placed as objectives in this course. Any exhibited deficiencies exposed during the pursuit of the DD degree should and can be placed within the definable objectives of this course.
This course is a student self-study, professor-assisted course that produces the 5000-7000 word essay on some topic that interests the student, is approved by the professor/instructor, and explores an area that explains or adds to the body of scholarship in the area of the agreed-upon topic. This is ABCS's way of allowing students that satisfy the prerequisites of this degree to advance to a professional doctorate without having completed a scholastic master's degree. This course allows the instructor the opportunity to fill in any theological holes that might exist in the scholastic record of the student.
Once the deficiencies or specifically targeted course work objectives are completed in this course, students should be able to display the equalizing effects of remediation and be able to present a significant improvement that will b exhibited in his/her calling in ministry.
